Welcome to the Intermountain Guide Service blog.  The purpose of our blog is to increase branding and visibility by sharing our love and  knowlege of the Wendover area.  Please visit us regularly and share this link with friends and family or anyone who may have interest.  This first blog is an introduction to the beginnings of  Intermountain Guide Service and what we do out here in the desert.  Enjoy and please comment.

Intermountain Guide Service located in Wendover, Nevada is owned and operated by Bryan Yadon.  As a third generation guide his work experience began in the summer of 1983, at age 14,  training as a river guide for Tour West Whitewater Adventures,  founded by his Grandfather Franklin Stratton.  Tour West continues today as a family run business that offers guided river trips on the Colorado (Grand Canyon, Cataract Canyon) and Salmon Rivers.  In the winter of 1989 bryan began working as a snowmobile guide for High Country Tours in Park City, Utah.  After working winters in the Wasatch for the next 15 years while continuing to run rivers he decided to start his own business.

After a year of planning and hard work Intermountain Guide Service (IGS) was founded in 2003 and began running tours. IGS ran an ATV and horseback tour concession at Snowbird Ski and Summer resort in Little Cottonwood Canyon, Utah.  IGS also offered guided fly fishing trips on local waters year round.  In 2005,  the possibility of running a year round tour operation was realized in Wendover. A border town,  Wendover is located 120 miles east of Salt Lake City on I-80.  The Wendover area is high desert sitting in the heart of the Great Basin.  This area has vast tracks of open public lands that have had minimal use by recreational visitors.  The area offers stark contrasts of landscapes with perfectly flat, white, valleys surrounded by colorful, jagged hills and mountains.  It provides visitors an opportuinty for solitude and beautiful scenery.  Wildlife, geology and ecology are also abundant and are best seen first hand on tours that have been developed to share the rich natural and human history of the area.  IGS is currently beginning our seventh year of operations in Wendover offering tours by ATV,  van (WWII Wendover airbase), Bonneville Salt Flats, and jeep tours.  A majority of the tours are guided by Bryan himself with the help of family and friends including Mr.”C”, Kelly and Katt.  IGS guides are knowledgable and friendly and are dedicated to safely guiding people on tours of this beautiful area.

On all of the IGS tours guests can expect great views.   There are many opportunities to take amazing photos of wildlife, sunsets, flowers, and more. Great Service, We are dedicated to making your tour a memorable one,  ask questions, if there’s something you would like to see ask and we’ll do our best to make it happen.   We also pick you up from your hotel and drop you off when the tour is finished.  Great People,  in addition to your guide it’s possible to meet many new people from all over the country who have traveled to our small town to enjoy themselves.  We  love nature, we love to teach, we love to live life to its fullest and we especially love to help others enjoy themselves.  We hope to facilitate the opportunity to create memories that will last a lifetime and develop lasting relationships. Come see us!   Book a room and take a tour there’s nothing wrong with a little fresh air!
